TF1 has been partnering with Orange Fab for several years. The Fab Force corporate program is extremely rich and we always came back from San Francisco with concrete action plans for our innovation roadmap, as well as high level contacts to operate them. The program provides us with a very strong expertise on our topics of innovation, a very high quality network (including start-ups, VCs, CVCs, technical experts, corporate executives within Comcast, Facebook, Saleforce, Google etc.), and workshops that allow us to quickly initiate collaborative and concrete work when we return to France. Fab Force is a real asset for our missions within TF1's Open Innovation and New Business Department.”

Orange VR Experience

WeVr Logo

Wevr received funding from Orange in December 2015. Following the investment, Orange launched a pilot with Wevr, representing their first foray into the European market.

Orange VR Experience is Orange’s distribution platform for VR content. Through Orange VR Experience and using a VR headset, users have access to a free library of premium VR experiences handpicked by Orange and provided by select content partners.

Orange VR Experience launched in December 2016 in partnership with Wevr, a LA based company Orange invested in through its corporate venture arm Orange Digital Ventures, along with HTC, Samsung, and others.

Powered by Wevr’s platform technology Transport™, the initiative came as a natural development between Orange and Wevr, confirming the strategic alignment between the two companies. Through this partnership, Orange continues to assess and to prepare for the way the distribution of VR content will impact its activities as a mobile network operator and internet service provider in the future.

“ My initial motiviation for getting involved with our Verdigris deployment was to gain visibility into our lab’s power consumption and headroom.  Without this visiblity, we run the risk of overloading  our servers and causing major disruption to projects.”

— Scott Dworkis, Infrastructure Engineer at Orange Silicon Valley

Verdigris’ partnership with Orange began when they joined Orange Fab in 2016. Orange Silicon Valley’s IoT Studio worked with Verdigris to install and implement their energy management system across our San Francisco office. Ultimately, the pilot identified multiple discrepancies in reported energy usage costing Orange Silicon Valley thousands of dollars on an annual basis.
